I love my Nintendo Wii Fit. The yoga helps center me, the strength training, which I originally thought was too easy, is slowly increasing my strength, the aerobics exercises have become a workout, and the balance games continue to cause my kids to laugh uncontrollably. Who knew how much fun it would be for the kids to watch me being hit by one panda or shoe after another as I dodged the soccer balls by mistake. My favorite part is seeing family members on my runs or doing a step routine. The kids will call out, "hey look there's Granny" as I'm running. It feels like I'm running with all my friends and family, at 6:30 in the morning...

When we first bought the Wii Fit, I spent hours testing the different exercises. My legs were sore from the skiing and I was frustrated by my lack of balance. Slowly, I've been figuring out the exercises. At first I was frustrated by the trainer but now that I've earned more repetitions for the exercises, I have come to view the trainer as a benefit (I'm sure a trainer at the club would also help me but this is much more cost effective and I don't have to get in the car). The best part is that it's easy to do a little workout so I'm more inclined to use it. I try to do a balance test about once every week or so to track my progress.

Two weeks ago I was feeling very stressed and I had a lot of neck/back pain. Knowing that I didn't have the time or money to see the massage therapist, I decided to force myself to do a little yoga every morning. I'm not sure if I've mentioned this before but yoga is not my thing. I have a hard time sitting still and I'm not very patient. The Wii Fit gives you feedback by showing your balance as a red dot that you try to center inside a yellow circle. The balance part is brilliant because it gives people like me something to do while we stretch. And I need any help I can get.

The kids also enjoy using it. B loves to run and to do the ski jump, which is too bad because I don't want to push his score off the high score list and I really like the ski jump. N occasionally uses it too but sometimes the Wii Fit is in competition with
