The US Environmental Protection Agency celebrates Children's Health Month each October by developing publications and activities that highlight the importance of protecting children from environmental risks. This year’s highlights include the launch of the Climate Change and Children’s Health Education Campaign, which will encourage middle school and high school students to take actions to address global climate change and children's health, and encourage their friends and families to do the same...... The release of the 2008 Children's Environmental Health Report, the eighth in an annual series highlighting EPA work to protect children from environmental risks. More information can be found at www.healthchild.org under their Blog section and at the EPA's web site, www.epa.org. My daughter's school has recently become more visual in their attempts to be a green school with a recycling program. Even the youngest students are recycling their trash and having fun in the process. I think at this stage in the game all families, schools and business should be recycling and talking to their kids, students and employees about waste. If your child's school isnt already involved in recycling and other green projects, check out the web for great ideas for home and school.
