Review:

I was given the book Mothers Who Think by a close friend of mine, another "thinking Mom" and enjoyed it very much. I do well with essays and magazine articles since my time alone is quite limited. The collection of essays in Mothers Who Think range from comic stories of women yearning to know the truth about child birth and a Mom who used a blender to fend off a bull to a haunting story of a woman yearning for a daughter. It's a great read as you unwind from a day full of diapers, toys, laundry and toddler debates. It's also a great gift for a new Mom. I have 3 expecting friends and one is a first time Mom....I think it would be a great gift for her. Enjoy!

Along the same lines as the book Mothers Who Think is a magazine I recently received called Motherwords. It's a collection of articles about mothering, parenting, etc and I enjoyed it a lot. The magazine is based out of Boston so I am not sure that its circulation reaches across America yet. If you see it, or something else like it, pick it up. I find great strength in reading other Moms or Dads experiences.
