Pre Pre School-Coming this Fall

It wasnt long ago that parents didnt think about school for their children before age 4. Now, as my daughter rounds the corner to being 2 years old, we have enrolled her in "school" 3 days a week in the mornings. I am a stay at home Mom but find there are things I cant give her at home that she needs as she enters pre school and kindergarden. I was impressed and shocked at the schools I saw as I did my research. Education is very expensive here in the Northeast and also very competitive. We finally, after much thought, settled on a school that is NAEYC accredited (National Association for the Education of Young Children), close to home and accepting of kids just missing the September cut off date. To learn more about NAEYC schools, check out www.naeyc.org. I will post more article this fall as my daughter's school experience begins. We are all very excited!

We like our preschool. It's a play-based co-op and I picked it because friends had their kids there. Before we got in I started consulting with the USGS so I was able to get in. I recommend looking for day care and preschool early. Some programs have very long waitlists.
