Child body care giveaway

Know anyone with dry or sensitive skin? How about someone who could benefit from aromatherapy before bed? Or maybe someone who needs a game to learn how to wash hands? High Maintenance Mom, California Baby, and SquidSoap want to help out two lucky High Maintenance Mom readers. One set of California Baby samples and one SquidSoap plus California Baby samples will be given away in June...

Both my kids have dry patches on their faces and scratches (some I don't even know how they got). The scratches really bother me and I don't want them to scar from the sun. I've tried lots of different products, many of which hurt or didn't help. A few months ago, Whole Foods recommended I try California Baby Calendula Cream. I remember B running from me as I tried to put it on him. Once I got it onto his face he said, "hey this one doesn't hurt". I was so relieved and it has really helped his skin. Because the cream worked so well, we also use the calming bubble bath.

California Baby products contain organic & sustainably grown ingredients. They also contain NO Nut Oils, Gluten, Soy, Oat, Dairy, Sulfates, DEA, Colors, Dyes, Synthetic Fragrances or Numbing Agents.

California Baby® was developed to meet the standards of a very particular mother. Jessica's son, Ian, was just a few months old when she realized the products available for his skin and hair were loaded with potential toxins. "People say, 'oh it's a small amount, you can rinse it off,' but I couldn't accept that," recalls Jessica. She resolved to make something at home just for her son, Ian. But her expertise grew beyond her immediate needs. After three years of research and testing (and the birth of new son, Miles), she introduced CALIFORNIA BABY® to consumers in 1995. Although developed for children, the products are just as effective for adults and will be especially appreciated by anyone sensitive to chemicals and skin irritations and conditions such as eczema...

Our other body care giveaway is from SquidSoap. In my job as a volcanologist I attend emergency management community meetings where health care specialists discuss issues and always recommend proper hand washing. I've realized that proper handwashing is an important skill to teach our kids and SquidSoap has developed a product to help out.

...Dirty hands are a leading cause of the spread of infection and food-borne illness...SquidSoap is a fun soap dispenser designed for teaching children healthy hand washing habits. Our motto is 'Training Tomorrow's Great Hand Washers'...

When you push down on the SquidSoap pump, a marker puts a small ink mark on your hand. The ink is designed to wash off but not until you’ve washed your hands thoroughly. Normally it takes 15-20 seconds of thorough scrubbing to wash the ink mark off. This is the period that most professionals suggest you wash your hands.(from About SquidSoap)

My kids love SquidSoap. The squishy squid is fun to play with and sticks to walls. The ink dot is fascinating and the kids spent time washing their hands to see if they could get rid of it. Unfortunately, my curious two year-old also dug into the stamp and removed the pad so ours no longer does the inking part. Both kids, however, are looking forward to our next one so they can "do more stamping". We still try to get the kids to sing a song while they wash their hands so they spend more time doing it. SquidSoap helps make the process fun.
