Being a huge fan of Dr Brown’s Wide Neck bottle, I was eager to try their new Natural Flow Training Cup (www.drugstore.com). My daughter did not take to the wide variety of bottles I exposed her to in an attempt to have a life away from nursing so I took the advice of many mothers and tried the Dr Brown’s brand. While she didn’t love the standard bottle, she did love the wide neck series. It most replicated the breast and the easy, fast and efficient flow made it all the better.

The new training cup does the same with it trade marked dual-function valve. It has the much loved natural flow, which makes sipping much easier than other cups we’ve tried. I don’t know if any of you have actually tried using a trainer cup but they don’t flow out as easy as they should leaving toddler frustrated and more apt to abandon the cup all together. It also has removable handles for those toddlers who like to hold the cup directly. But, it does have the (often cursed) multiple parts to clean. There are four parts total, the cup, the handles, the valve and the soft cap. The parts are easy to open and close but the handles take a little twisting to get locked into place.

My one complaint is the size of the cup; it is too wide. When my daughter tried to put it in her cup holder on her high chair, it did not fit. I had to take it from her and place it on the counter leaving her asking for it every time she was thirsty. I have contacted the company to ask why they decided on the size and will follow up once I hear from them.

Looks like Dr. Brown has done it again! I would recommend their new trainer cup along with their bottles.
