High Maintenance Mom

After traveling for almost two weeks, I'm still working on our holiday cards. I've sent some, but not all. The one helpful thing I've been doing is to collect all the cards from each year along with the addresses. After I have hung them up, made appropriate "ooo" or "isn't she cute" noises, and let the kids play with them, I dump them into a manila envelope with the year on them. Throughout the next year I add any "change of address" information I receive...

When it's time to write cards, I start with everyone who sent us a card last year. Then I add our pediatrician (he has walls of photos up) and anyone new. I'm trying not to send cards to people who didn't send them to us last year, mainly because I don't want others to think they have to send them. There is a part of me that dreads taking the picture and sending the card. But there is another part of me that really enjoys hearing from everyone and having a yearly photo of our family. If you haven't sent cards and want to, there is still time. If you don't want to, you really don't have to and you shouldn't feel guilty - unless you're my husband, who knows what he's forgotten...
