The Backyardigans are coming to CD!

On July 12, 2005, Nick Records/Sony BMG Music Entertainment will release the first collection of Backyardigans songs. The album will feature favorites from the television show, in which each episode features songs written in a different musical genre. If you haven't seen the Backyardigans, I recommend checking them out (see Dancing to the Backyardigans from April).

In addition to the CD, "Race to the Tower of Power", a Backyardigans musical special, will be shown on Nick Jr. on Monday, July 18, at 11:00am (ET/PT). The music genre for the special is salsa and I'm looking forward to seeing the dancing...

Each of The Backyardigans animated dance steps are choreographed by Beth Bogush, a former director of the Alvin Ailey Dance School's children's program and performed by real dancers whose movements are then recreated in animation. The show's rich animation style features lush, fantasy backgrounds created with CGI and 3D techniques.
